About Pack 3291
Pack 3291 is a co-ed Cub Scout pack serving roughly forty kids in grades K–5 in Prairie Village, Kansas. We're chartered by Village Presbyterian Church and part of the Heart of America Council of Scouting America, which serves the greater Kansas City area.
Cub Scouting is a family program: parents aren't dropping kids off at an activity — they're part of it. Our year is built around campouts, hikes, community events like our annual bike rodeo, Scout Nights with area partners, and monthly pack meetings where the whole pack celebrates what scouts have earned.
How dens work
Every scout belongs to a den — a small group of kids in the same grade — and the dens together make the pack. Each grade has its own rank, its own adventures, and its own pace, from kindergarten Lions to fifth-grade Arrow of Light. The full grade-by-grade story lives on What Scouts Do.
The scouting year
Pack meetings
First Monday of the month at Village Presbyterian Church — games, skits, and awards for the whole pack. Visitors welcome; exact dates and times live on the calendar.
Den meetings
About once a month — small-group time where most adventures are earned. Each den leader sets their den's day.
Campouts & hikes
Regional scout campouts and local trail hikes through the year — the heart of the program.
Community events
Our annual bike rodeo, Scout Nights with area partners, and service around Prairie Village.
Who leads the pack
Pack 3291 is run entirely by volunteer parents — neighbors and coaches who said "sure, I can help" and meant it. The Cubmaster leads pack meetings and the program, a den leader runs each grade's den, and the pack committee handles planning, money, and logistics. Every registered leader completes Scouting America's Youth Protection Training, and every activity runs with two-deep leadership.
