About Pack 3291
Pack 3291 is a co-ed Cub Scout pack serving roughly forty kids in grades K–5 in Prairie Village, Kansas. We're chartered by Village Presbyterian Church and part of the Heart of America Council of Scouting America, which serves the greater Kansas City area.
Cub Scouting is a family program: parents aren't dropping kids off at an activity — they're part of it. Our year is built around campouts, hikes, community events like our annual bike rodeo, Scout Nights with area partners, and monthly pack meetings where the whole pack celebrates what scouts have earned.
How dens work
Every scout belongs to a den — a small group of kids in the same grade. Dens typically meet once a month on Sundays, and the whole pack meets the first Monday of each month. Each grade has its own rank, adventures, and pace (click any rank for the full parent's guide):
| Grade | Den rank | What it's like |
|---|---|---|
| Kindergarten | Lion | A parent or caring adult partners with each scout at every meeting — a gentle, playful start. |
| 1st grade | Tiger | Adult partners still join in as scouts explore, build, and play their way through adventures. |
| 2nd grade | Wolf | Scouts gain independence — games, skills, and first campfires. |
| 3rd grade | Bear | Bigger skills: tools, cooking, nature, and more responsibility. |
| 4th grade | Webelos (say "WEE-buh-lows") | Outdoor skills ramp up — campouts, tools, and more independence. |
| 5th grade | Arrow of Light | The bridge year: scouts prepare to cross over into Scouts BSA troops. |

Who leads the pack
Pack 3291 is run entirely by volunteer parents. The Cubmaster leads pack meetings and program; Den Leaders run each den; and the Pack Committee handles planning, finances, and logistics — meet the pack team. All registered adult leaders complete Scouting America's Youth Protection Training, and every activity follows two-deep leadership.
Want to reach a leader? Email cubmaster@pack3291.org (every address is on the contact page) — it goes to real humans in the pack, not a national office.
